The most beautiful homes are a well-edited mix of elements. They respect their architecture but leave room for the unexpected.
We love working with Seattle area homeowners who share a similar sensibility and do our best to make the design process straightforward and enjoyable.
We offer two types of flat fee interior design services – one for those who want help with furnishings and finishes only, and one for clients who are planning a remodel.
Interior Design for Furnishings and Finishes
A home is a retreat, as well as where we welcome family and friends. It’s where we spend most of our time and make countless memories. It follows, then, that our homes should make us happy. If you need help getting there, our Pacific Northwest interior design firm would love to help.
Our process includes:
Research. We get to know our clients and their aspirations for their homes, in terms of both style and function. We also conduct due diligence on a home in order to understand the possibilities as well as the constraints.
A design plan. This includes an overarching vision for a space and all the nitty gritty details involved in making it a reality – we select the paint colors, furnishings, lighting, finishes and accessories that will go into a space. To help clients envision the final result we prepare a space plan/layout, elevations, mood boards, material samples, and a detailed list of all purchases.
Procurement (placing and tracking orders).
Trade consultation. Projects often include work by tradespeople, such as painters and wallpaper installers. When this is the case, we communicate on behalf of our clients to ensure that their work aligns with the design plan.
Installation and styling.
Projects can be as small as single room or as large as an entire home.
Minimum design fee: $3,500.
Interior Design for Remodels
In a remodel, the decisions seem endless. And the stakes are considerable – no one wants to go through the expense of a remodel only to wish they’d selected different kitchen cabinets. If you are Seattle area resident planning a remodel, we would love to help.
Our process includes:
Research. We get to know our clients and their aspirations for their homes, in terms of both style and function.
Architectural review. We review the architectural drawings in order to understand the possible issues and opportunities.
A design plan. This includes establishing an over-arching vision for the space and then specifying all of the materials involved that have an aesthetic component, such as tile, paint, hardware, plumbing fixtures, lighting and so on. To help clients envision the final result, this includes imagery, material samples, and a detailed list of all purchases.
Procurement (placing and tracking orders).
Trade consultation. We communicate with a client’s contractor and subs to ensure that their work aligns with the design plan.
Projects can be as small as single space or as large as an entire home.
Minimum design fee: $3,500.
In both cases, Home Edit’s approach to residential interior design in Seattle is a creative, collaborative process and no two projects are alike.
